Lucy Duffy – Meridian Business Support

I have recently completed my first year in recruitment, never before have I experienced what it meant to have excitement and passion in the work I did until I entered the life of a recruitment consultant. 

Before I joined Meridian Business Support as a trainee recruitment consultant my work history was based on customer focused roles, but I was never truly satisfied. Since joining Meridian, I have been given support and guidance in my work, I have been given opportunity to train and develop my skills and helped to progress in the recruitment sector and achieve a promotion from trainee consultant to consultant in less then a year.

Working in recruitment gives you personal satisfaction regularly, there is no greater feeling then placing a candidate into a role, them excelling and therefore showing your client the devotion, time and commitment you put into finding them the right people for their vacancies. Not only are you helping your clients by filling the vacancies that they don’t have the tools and resources to do so, you are also helping your candidates to find work they might not necessarily have found without your suggestions and advice.

Recruitment gives you the chance to use your people skills, sales skills and time management skills on a daily basis, but in completely different ways, no two days are the same in the world of recruitment, making the role continually exciting.
